At the meeting, there are other representatives of Indo - Vietnam Solidarity Committee of West Bengal state: Ms. Kusum Jain (Vice Chairman) and Ms. Pravamayee Smantary (Staff of the Committee). Members of Centre for Indian studies attended the meeting.
Assoc. Prof. PhD. Le Van Toan showed his happiness to meet and work with the President of the Committee and his partners at the office of the Centre; thanked the President of the Committee for his feelings and contribution to activities for Vietnam, for the loyal and growing friendship between the two nations, two countries Vietnam and India. The Director of the Centre introduced activities and guidelines of the Centre in recent time and intentions in the future. Besides sustaining and developing activities of the website for providing multi-dimensional scientific information by two languages Vietnamese and English, Centre for Indian studies implemented activities of connecting and promoting Vietnam-India development cooperation in many aspects: politics, economics, energy, culture, society, education, training, science and technology, security and defense; promoting academic linkages in many levels, many areas to creating a network of competent scholars and researchers from colleges and institutes from outside and inside; to build an interactive community in scientific activities, training, exchanging in many areas; to create an academic forum between Vietnam - India and related countries.
Mr. Geetesh Sharma thanked the sentiment welcome of leaders of the Centre, and felt glad for activities outcomes that the centre gained. The President of the Committee expressed his belief in success of the centre in the future because the centre had active and enthusiastic cadres. He introduced main activities of his Committtee such as studying and completing the book “Traces of Indian Culture in Vietnam”, “Vietnam Liberation War - Role of Calcutta”, published a poetry book “Worldwide poets write about President Ho Chi Minh”. The Committee also implemented activities in India for celebrating 125 years of Ho Chi Minh’s Birthday; worked with Ho Chi Minh Museum and Vietnam Literature Association to implement book and photo exhibition about Uncle Ho, in which stressed activities of Uncle Ho when he visited India in 1958. Mr. Geetesh Sharma agreed permit Centre for Indian studies to translate and publish his book in Vietnam and hoped the Centre for Indian Studies and Indo - Vietnam Solidarity Committee of West Bengal always work together to implement many activities to contribute for the development of Vietnam - India friendship.
The Director of the Centre expressed his happiness for meaningful activities of Indo - Vietnam Solidarity Committee of West Bengal state. These activities, especially honest feelings for Vietnam of Mr.Geetesh Sharma, are valuable lessons and mirrors to educate young generation in Vietnam - India loyal friendship so that they will grow beautiful feelings and organize practical activities contributing to a more beautiful Vietnam - India friendship.
