New Delhi: Efforts to break the logjam over Russian defence deals because of US sanctions have zeroed in on a rupee-rouble transfer as the only way out but both sides are finding it difficult to find banking institutions through which such payments can be routed.

He said India would host an SCO food festival and an exhibition on the Buddhist heritage shared by the grouping's eight countries — India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The leaders signed 22 documents, including a framework to prevent radicalisation of youth and spread of narcotics.
Defence cooperation between India and Thailand is set to get a boost with their armies all set to engage in a two-week annual war game to enhance battle efficiency of the two Asian states.
The aim of the exercise is a joint training of troops in counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism operations in both jungle and mountainous terrain and disaster management.
