Chiều ngày 15/9/2014, Học viện Chính trị quốc gia Hồ Chí Minh vinh dự đón tiếp Tổng thống Ấn Độ cùng đoàn đại biểu cấp cao Nhà nước Cộng hòa Ấn Độ và đồng chí Trương Tấn Sang - Ủy viên Bộ Chính trị, Chủ tịch nước Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam khai trương Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Ấn Độ tại Học viện Chính trị quốc gia Hồ Chí Minh.

Tại buổi Lễ, lãnh đạo cấp cao hai nước đều nhấn mạnh: sự thành lập của Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Ấn Độ thuộc Học viện Chính trị quốc gia Hồ Chí Minh là một minh chứng cho việc thúc đẩy quan hệ ngoại giao giữa hai nước và tin tưởng rằng, Trung tâm sẽ trở thành cơ quan đầu mối trao đổi học thuật giữa hai nước, góp phần làm phong phú và sâu sắc hơn mối quan hệ song phương Việt - Ấn.

Để khẳng định niềm tin này, Tổng thống Pranab Mukherjee đã tặng cho Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Ấn Độ hơn 100 cuốn sách quý, rất có giá trị của Ấn Độ như một món quà nhân dịp khai trương.
